Graduation Details

Commencement will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. FHS students must arrive at the Coliseum and be in the Champions Pavilion by 2:00 p.m. There is a $10 parking fee per vehicle for the graduation ceremony. ADA-accessible parking will be available. View the Indiana State Fairgrounds graduation parking map for more details. After commencement concludes, students and parents will reunite outside of the Coliseum. *Student Dress Code: A dress, skirt, or dress shirt with tie and dress pants are appropriate. No flip-flops, shorts, tennis shoes, or jeans permitted. Seniors wearing inappropriate attire will not be allowed to participate in graduation. There will be a mandatory commencement rehearsal on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Indiana Farmer’s Coliseum located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Every senior going through the commencement ceremony MUST attend the rehearsal at the Coliseum. The rehearsal will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and will end at 11:30 a.m. Seniors may drive themselves and should arrive at the Fairgrounds no later than 8:45 a.m. Seniors should enter the Fairgrounds through Gate 6 off Fall Creek Parkway. Parking is free for rehearsal but will cost $10/vehicle on Saturday for the graduation ceremony. Seniors who need bus transportation to/from rehearsal at the Coliseum will indicate so on a form that will be distributed on February 1st. Seniors should plan to stay at rehearsal for the entire time. Early dismissal will not be allowed. *Student Dress Code: Dress-up event (dress shirt, dress pants, dress, or skirt). No jeans, shorts, flip-flops, or tennis shoes. Do not bring your cap and gown to rehearsal.

Each senior will receive a MAXIMUM of 6 graduation tickets in a white envelope at graduation rehearsal. Students must attend graduation rehearsal to receive graduation tickets. The number of tickets may be reduced to accommodate social distancing mandated by the Indiana State Fairgrounds at the time of graduation. 

Cap and Gown Ordering

During Required Employability on October 5, 2023, Herff Jones representatives will meet with seniors to share ordering and basic graduation information. Students who do not have Employability will receive the handout on October 6th during class or can pick up the materials in the Guidance Office.

Cap and gown orders can be placed on the Herff Jones website. Orders must be placed by December 22, 2023, to ensure delivery before graduation day. Please note, any orders placed after December 22, 2023, will include a significant price increase.

On October 12, 2023, Herff Jones representatives will be at FHS in the CCA from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. to take in-person orders and gown measurements.

Senior Yearbook Photo

Seniors need to be photographed by Prestige Photography by November 11, 2023, in order to be included in the yearbook. Last Chance Day is at FHS on November 11 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. In order to include a student photo in the yearbook, students must be in approved yearbook attire: Nice shirts that cover upper arms and shoulders, collared shirt & tie (jacket preferred). 

Seniors have two options when scheduling:

  • Single outfit session for yearbook purposes only will take place on November 11th, when Prestige Photography is on site. This session will cost $10. Register using this Signup Genius.
  • Multiple outfit sessions MUST schedule an “In Studio Photography” appointment via the Prestige Photography website.

All sessions must be completed by November 11, 2023. You can schedule your studio sessions via the Prestige Photography website. If you have not scheduled by November 11th, 2023, you will not be in the yearbook. 

Senior Yearbook Ads

Senior parents: Want to celebrate your senior with an ad in the yearbook? Visit to create a senior ad before Feb. 8. Costs vary depending on size, and you can create your own design and message to celebrate your graduate.

Senior Community Service Cord

Seniors have the opportunity to earn a special cord to wear at graduation if they complete 15 hours of community service between June 1, 2023, and May 1, 2024. Community service hours must be documented on the Senior Community Service Cord Form once the student completes all 15 hours. This form must be submitted by May 1, 2024, to receive a cord at graduation. Hours performed for other school service organizations (such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, Key Club, Students in Action, etc.) WILL count toward Senior Community Service hours. Examples of Service Opportunities.

Senior Scholarship Cord

Seniors have the opportunity to earn an additional honorary cord to wear at commencement. The Scholarship Cord is given to any senior who has been offered one or more scholarships for post-secondary studies. Seniors need to document their scholarship(s) on the Senior Scholarship Cord Form by May 1, 2024, to receive a cord at graduation.

Naviance eDocs

Seniors, please use Naviance to request transcripts for college applications, NCAA, and NAIA.  Directions for requesting a transcript through Naviance can be found on the FHS College and Career Readiness page under Explore > Naviance > Steps for Applying to College. Please log into Naviance through Clever.
