General School News

SAFE-Student Alliance for Equity meetings

The student alliance for equity will be meeting on the following dates in the library at 3 PM- 4PM. Sept. 3, Sept. 10, Oct. 1, Oct. 10, Nov. 5, Nov. 19, and Dec. 10. This Club was established to EMPOWER STUDENTS TO UNDO RACISM, BIAS, STEREOTYPES, AND JUDGEMENT. Attend if you would like to learn and participate.

FHS READS-Get Rewarded for Your Reading

Attention FHS Students. You can now get a chance to win a $10 Amazon Gift Card with every book you read and rate through the FHS Library. Simply read a book, fill out the form, and you are entered. You will be included in a pizza party if you choose to read at least 5 Eliot Rosewater books (https://bit.ly/34RSPzT). The more you read, the more entries you have. Stop by the library for more information.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Fishers is having a Thanksgiving Food Drive November 18-22. Bring cans of unopened food to your first period class. The first period class with the most cans will have a Jack's Donuts party on November 25th!

Seton Hall's Sustainable Development Challenge

Seton Hall’s Sustainable Development Challenge is offering high school students the opportunity to submit an essay describing an innovative idea for addressing one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Ten finalists will win scholarships and cash prizes and will be invited to present their essays in person at Seton Hall. More information is available at www.shu.edu/UNchallenge. Submission deadline is March 1st.

Washington University in St. Louis Precollege Summer Programs

Washington University in St. Louis is offering two on-campus summer programs for academically talented high school students. In the Summer Scholars program, students enroll in humanities, math, science and social sciences courses for credit. In the Summer Institutes program, high school students explore a career or major, choosing from seven areas of interest, including creative writing, medicine and engineering. Uniform Application for Community Scholarships (UACS)

Seniors, the Uniform Application for Community Scholarships is available now! Look for the “Uniform App-Comm Scholarships” link on the front page of the FHS website. This online application is a great way to apply for many local scholarships offered by Fishers and Hamilton County community organizations as well as the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation. Application deadline is March 18th. More information is available in Guidance.

Track Conditioning

Attention any athlete interested in being a sprinter or a jumper for the FHS track team. Please see Coach Riordan in H210 to get off-season conditioning information.

Fall Alternate Physical Education Quizzes

Canvas Quizzes for the Fall Alternate Physical Education credit are due this Friday, November 22. NO late Quizzes will be available.
