Interested in knowing more about the IB Diploma Programme  at FHS?

1. Attend an IB Information Night

Join us on Tuesday, November 4, at 6:00 PM in FHS Café A for our IB Information Night. The IB Coordinators + IB School Counselor will be there to answer your questions.

2. Indicate Interest

If your student is interested in pursuing the IB Diploma, please complete the Class of 2030 IB Interest Form.

3. Schedule a meeting

o    If your child is currently zoned for Hamilton Southeastern High School, click HERE to schedule a 15-minute virtual Teams meeting with the IB Coordinator by November 24, 2025, to discuss program requirements and transfer eligibility.  Note: High School placement choice must be made by early December.

o    If your child is already slated to attend FHS, please click HERE to schedule a meeting for January 2026 to discuss the next steps. 

Freshman Choice Application must be completed by December 5, 2025.

Parent Meeting

We are excited to invite you to the Fishers High School Academic Planning Night on January 15, 2026! 

This event is open to all FHS families and will feature breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including scholarships, financial aid and Career and Technical Education opportunities, among others. It promises to be an incredible evening for learning about the academic pathways and resources available to your student. 

As part of this whole-school event, we want to extend a special invitation to a breakout session specifically designed for families of current freshmen interested in pursuing the IB Diploma Programme. This IB Programme Information Session will take place in the Café C during the second breakout session from 7:00–7:40 PM. During this session, you’ll gain insight into the requirements, benefits, and opportunities offered through the IB Programme, as well as the steps your student will need to take to earn the IB Diploma. We strongly encourage you to attend this session to ensure you have all the information necessary to support your student in this exciting academic journey!

Sophomore Scheduling

Students will finalize their schedules with their counselors in February 2026, ensuring they meet IB prerequisites and cohort courses.

We strongly encourage you to attend this session to ensure you have all the information necessary to support your student in this exciting academic journey!

Senior Scheduling 

IB Coordinators will meet with students in January 2026 to finalize senior year schedules.

Cost of IB Diploma Path

There is a $140 fee per IB assessment. With IB Diploma students needing to take 7 IB assessments in their program path, we have created an IB Diploma package of $800 to cover all of the IB assessments for an IB Diploma student. All IB Diploma students and their families have been sent a bill for the cost of the assessments, including a two-year payment plan.

Earning the IB Diploma

Now that your junior year has started, you are officially in the IB Programme and on your way to earning the IB Diploma. We have created a path to help you meet the criteria needed to achieve this goal. But what are the criteria?

To obtain the IB Diploma, you must meet all of the criteria below:

• Core has been met: CAS, Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay
  • IB will give you a score on your Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge assessment. Together, you must earn a D or above.
• Each subject’s assessment will earn you a score of 1-7 from IB. This allows for 42 points total. To earn the IB Diploma, you must score a total of 24 points or above.
  • None of the contributing components can earn an “N” (indicating you didn’t turn it in or there was plagiarism)
  • You can receive bonus points from your Theory of Knowledge assessment and your Extended Essay
  • 12+ points must come from your HL subjects
  • 9+ points must come from your SL subjects
  • All of your subject assessments must earn a score of above 1 point
  • A score of 2 points can only be awarded 2 or fewer times
  • A score of 3 points can only be awarded 3 or fewer times

-There are no make-up dates for an IB exam

-Students are required to stay for a minimum of two hours for each session they are registered for
